2015 is the Future
During our team meeting last week John stated, ‘I always thought the year 2015 was the future – you know, with floating cars and whatnot.’ You can clearly tell we don’t have floating cars, but if you go in your pocket and take out your smart phone, I would be comfortable saying the future is here.
Before moving forward I wanted to reflect on 2014. It was a special year for me personally which was highlighted with the purchase of my first home. Luckily, nothing major has gone wrong but I am waiting patiently for it to occur. I am not putting a curse on myself – just trying to set expectations for when it goes wrong I will not have to write about it in one of these articles. Along with the home purchase I had 7 weddings sprinkled in all over New England and they all went off without a hitch. The year ended on a high note as my brother Nick (and his wife) added another beautiful baby boy to the family.
One of my favorite parts of every year took place just about a month ago. My girlfriend Ashley and I took the day off during the extremely busy holiday rush so we could take in the surroundings and enjoy each other’s company. The day started out at our favorite breakfast place, followed by shopping, lunch accompanied with a hot chocolate, the Holiday Pops at Boston Symphony Hall, then dinner and drinks at a favorite Italian eatery in the North End.
2015 will bring just as many big things. My brother and one of my closest friends are getting married in the next few months, and I am fortunate to be the best man at both of their big days. Even before that, my brother Ben and his wife are expecting a baby girl at the end of March. The family is in full growth mode between all the weddings and the addition of nieces and nephews. Never a dull moment.
With all of this going on it is still important that I plan time to unwind. I am in the midst of planning the vacations for the year and currently nothing is on the schedule. Hopefully we can plan a little time in California to visit friends and a trip to Europe to see my sister, brother in law, and her two kids. Suggestions are welcome as I am always looking for something new!
Until next time…
