Project #1

US Wealth Napolitano |

It has been a few months since the purchase of the condo and everything is findings its place.  As some of you may know, my condo is in Boston and it doesn’t have a lot of extra room to just ‘throw stuff in the basement,’ of which I was accustomed to growing up. Organization is key - not just for knowing what items are located where, but how can you fit the maximum amount of stuff into a specific area.

One of the few rooms that was not being properly utilized was the bathroom. This recognition led to the creation of a plan for my first large project.

I only have one bathroom in the condo which forced me to pay extra special attention to the project. Because of that, I went at this just as I would a financial plan. After I established that the bathroom was going to be tackled, the next step was to collect all the data that was available. It isn’t just taking measurements, but looking at all the fine details including the color of the grout. As long as you gather all of the required information, projects can be properly analyzed.

After months of analysis, I developed a plan and implement the plan as close to perfection as I possibly could. As you would imagine and we all know from our financial plans, nothing ever goes exactly to plan (no matter how well you lay it out). My one big hurdle was that the drain pipe for the old sink did not line up with the new. It was off by approximately one inch. This required an extra trip to Home Depot to rework the pluming for a perfect fit. It was a little stressful at that moment but with a quick call to someone with experience (my dad), it took an easy few steps to complete it.

The project development took a few months, but the project was more or less completed over a weekend. I am proud of my project not only because of how it turned out, but the fact that I went from talking about it to putting it in motion. I relied on professionals and people who had tremendous experience with similar projects. This may be the same for you as you prepare to retire, change jobs, help aging parents, or revamp your estate plan, just to name a few. But as long as you have a plan and rely on our expertise we will eventually get you to your desired destination. Until next time…
