Rites of Spring Celebration April 6
Each year, just as sure as the crocuses will pop up when the snow melts, spring training will begin. Last week all pitchers and catchers reported to training camp and today the rest of the teams show up. Even if you are not a baseball fan this usually helps us to think spring. In fact, the first spring training exhibition games start in a day or two for most teams.
Last year’s last place Red Sox open this season on April 6th in Philadelphia against the Phillies. It is a Monday, and based on the weather so far in 2015, there aren’t many people who expect that to be a stellar day – except for us. Based on our worst case of cabin fever in decades, we are hosting an opening day celebration in our beautiful office here in Braintree.
Starting just in time for the first pitch at 3 PM, we are reproducing a luxury box experience at 30 Braintree Hill in Elena’s café. We have the entire restaurant reserved only for the special guests of USWM and their friends. We’ll have popcorn, peanuts and Cracker Jack. We’ll have a putting green for you golfers that cry yourself to sleep each night because your golf course is under 4 feet of snow. We’ll have Hot Dogs, beer, large TVs and other ball park favorites until the final pitch… hopefully by 6 PM.
What do we need? We need you to be there to celebrate what will inevitably be spring with us. Don’t be a stick in the mud and please take the time to put this in your calendar right now… and while you’re at it, make sure that you invite your family and friends who may enjoy such a fun environment to meet the team at USWM.
This is a casual event. Red Sox attire is appreciated, but not mandatory. I suppose we’d even let a few fans in the gig who adorn the colors of any team – even those with pinstripes.
