A Smashing Success

I am honored with all of the support that we have received from you for our charitable efforts over the past few months. The U.S. Wealth Management Jimmy Fund Golf Classic was a smashing success despite 40 MPH winds and sideways pouring rain. Even more impressive were the non-golfers who generously sent contributions along with auction items or gifts all in support of eradicating cancer from our lives. Some were even lucky enough to take home Hall of Fame signed baseballs donated by Red Sox Cy Young award winner (1967) Jim Lonborg as well as many other highly coveted items. This year’s outing raised $19,280 in support of curing cancer.

As you know, U.S. Wealth Management (USWM) has adopted Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund as its official not for profit beneficiary. It wasn’t easy for us to choose a charity to support, as we wanted to support something that nearly everyone will encounter at some point in their life.  While I hope you never get cancer, we all know someone who has, had, or have fallen to this dreaded disease.

100% of all the money raised was donated to the cause. USWM generously picks up the tab for everything else as the sponsor of the event to maximize the benefit for DFCI/The Jimmy Fund.

On a positive note, you should know that today, due to your generous support, people are surviving and living long enough to hope. In fact, one of the drawing features for us with DFCI and The Jimmy Fund is how efficient they really are. Eighty-eight cents of every single dollar donated goes directly to patient care and research for cures. In fact, it is mind blowing to know that nearly half of all of the patents issued by the FDA for cancer curing methods and clinical trials last year were approved on behalf of DFCI. That’s a lot of great work supported by you and the U.S. Wealth Management Jimmy Fund Golf Classic.

Everyone knows that this disease sucks. There’s no other way to say it. Please enjoy the photos from this year’s efforts at our golf classic and a few of the other Jimmy Fund events that we chose to support.

Please save the date for next year’s classic. The date is 9/21/2018.  We have already been promised good weather for the golf outing and an extra special raffle prize for those non golfers who contribute $250 or more.
